Uniform shift
So I was scrolling through my archives and I wrote this about a year ago…but I never posted. This is my issue 🤦🏾♀️. I have content but the introvert in me…but these were the days pre-COVID, when standing close wasn’t a thing…..gah…
Anyhow, when I read through it, it’s so pertinent for now as I prepare to have another little one and go through the process of embracing my postpartum body. So hopefully this helps my fellow mamas, new mamas or women who are struggling to get out of their daily uniforms….

This post is for my moms. Or for those who find themselves wearing a similar or the same outfit day in and day out. We all do it sometimes (or should I add with COVID quite often)…don’t believe social media hype, lol.
I had my son in the fall. I’ll say it again. 🗣 I love fall. Blazers, button ups and sweaters are my favorite. The colors and the crisp air reminds me of my childhood growing up in Michigan. But back to those early newborn days.
I remember the constant fog from lack of sleep, dealing with postpartum hormones, breastfeeding woes and the like. And trying to still look like a human. And not scary. And sort of put together cause I was a working mom.
I found myself settling into what some might call a mom uniform. I wanted something that allowed for easy access for breastfeeding but that still somewhat resembled my style during my body changes. I resorted to jeans and a t-shirt. High waist of course to smoothen the pooch (and because I work with kids and I sit on the floor and seeing someone’s crack is unpleasant 😳🤭). When it got cold, a turtleneck and jeans. And I loved it. I still do. But sometimes you gotta switch it up. So here’s a twist on the mom uniform. Two of them actually. You’re welcome. 😁
Didn’t take much—just some heels, and a button up. And you can still wear a t-shirt. Or a turtleneck. And some accessories. Trust me you’ll feel like a million bucks. So go...try it. Tell me how you feel...
