Thank you so much for visiting my site! I am so excited to have the opportunity to work alongside you. I’m Sharlene, a researcher, program developer, and speech-language pathologist by day. I’m also a wife and boy mama. I have a passion for helping Black families and children and those from diverse, marginalized and lower SES backgrounds.

By night, I am an image consultant, stylist, and blogger, with a deep desire for helping women, particularly my Black community thrive. So, why Sharlendipity? As you may have guessed, Sharlendipity has a unique connection to the term serendipity, "an aptitude of making desirable discoveries by accident."  Imagine stumbling into a thrift store or a consignment shop. You discover a vintage piece that if you were able to find in a regular store would cost a fortune...and you got it for pennies. Accidental...desirable...discovery.

As I accidentally discovered my love and passion for vintage inspired outfits and overall style, I began receiving numerous requests from family members and friends asking me to help them discover their own styles and tackle the mystery of "thrifting".

So, the idea for this site was born. This will be a place in which primarily vintage fashion will be showcased as well as a modern twist on vintage themes.  However, as a communication specialist, my goal is to help you discover your true style and finally find the freedom to communicate who you truly are to others.
